A Vintage French Patisserie Party by Little Big Company part of Tomkat Designer Challenge

We are part of the TomKat Designer Challenge on the Tomkat blog, so please vote for us:) alongside some other fantastic event stylists ours is - The Vintage French Patisserie Party for Sophie's eighth birthday was based around Tom Kat's studio's beautiful vintage girl printables, we wanted a pink and pale mint theme which we loved in the vintage girl printables .

We wanted the girls to feel like that were walking into a French Patisserie shop also with having their lunch outside in an outdoor setting ala the Paris sidewalks. The party set up was like a Patisserie shop, with a Patisserie counter and you walked outside the Patisserie to have birthday lunch. With umbrellas in pots of flowers and an outdoor setting, we wanted the girls to feel like they were in the streets of cafe. Lots of painting, second hand sourcing and building on the day of the party by Little Big Company. I painted a old second hand cabinet that needed alot of TLC white which I got cheaply at our local second hand store, I wanted to make that cabinet look like a beautiful cake cabinet. I also found at a salvage centre, old windows which I stripped and stained to make into the Patisserie windows to go either side of the table and an old mirror which was in bad shape, which I painted white, took out the mirror part then painted the backing with chalk paint to make a French Patisserie Sign. I then painted another old mirror white to use as the tray to go on the table to put the tea pot cookies on. With a pink and mint green theme to match the printables, Studio Cake made the Patisserie cake in pink and white stripes aswell as the ombre green cake. JLovesS made the beautiful jar toppers with feathers, brooches and rosettes.

Little big company painted a second hand tv cabinet white and bought a second hand mirror for $20 which I made into a Patisserie sign, by painting it with black chalkboard paint and painting the frame white. The Inspired Occasion made the wonderful cakes, french style savouries, the cupcakes, the pretty macarons and the ruffle cake on the Patisserie counter which we put the hair bows that Le Petite Princess made for the party, aswell as the girls getting the bows as party favours. The paris themed cakes and poodle cookies were made by Spoon, Fork and Cookies and the butterfly cake and the pink bow cake with S was made by 2 Sisters Cakes. Gorgeous Gourmet made beautiful Eiffel Tower Chocolate pops for the day. Little Play Spaces cardboard Paris Cafe was set up for the girls to play in and have some fun in. Velvet Lily Florist did the wonderful flowers for the day. I found some old windows from a reclamation centre and placed them either side the table with flowers in window pots from Velvet Lily Florist.
