Lucia from Something Wonderful Happened styled this gorgeous Bakery themed birthday party as told by Lucia
"Aila starts looking through cookbooks to find inspiration for her next
birthday cake about six months out from her birthday. So a bakery theme was just perfect for involving her in the excitement of preparations for her 4th birthday party! With two boys numbering amongst the many female guests, we wanted a colour palette that was feminine but that still had some colours that little boys could relate to. Aqua, yellow and pale pink fit the brief and provided a bright, fun environment for all that baking. To create a sense of anticipation for the party, guests received an invitation wrapped around a mini rolling pin. Interstate guests received an invitation tied with bakers twine and a mini whisk in the mail. On arrival, Aila’s young guests were gifted with beautiful aprons and chef’s hats custom-made by Cora Kids. They then used custom made ‘recipe books’ to guide them in decorating cupcakes. Mini rolling pins, painted in aqua and yellow, were used as place settings and cookies in the shape of oven mitts made for a sweet detail. Guests took home their decorated cupcakes, a rolling pin, their hat and apron, a customised water bottle and an oven mitt cookie in a sweet calico favour bag. And Aila’s mum has made her promise to wait at least four months before getting out the cook books to start planning her 5th birthday
